Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a specialised allied health profession centred around injuries and illnesses of the musculoskeletal system. Physiotherapists employ a range of evidence-based interventions to assist in the management and recovery of these conditions. This may involve :

Massage and soft tissue therapy
Stretching
Strapping and taping
Dry needling
Joint mobilisation and manipulation
Exercise prescription including using Pilates and gym equipment
Referral for imaging or to other health providers
Real time ultrasound
Home and gym-based exercise plans

You do not require a referral from a doctor to see a physiotherapist. We treat patients who have had an accepted claim under Workcover, TAC, DVA and Chronic Disease Management plans from your GP. Please bring this information and any other relevant information (eg xray or imaging results) with you to your initial appointment.

Physiotherapy services are rebatable under private health insurance under Physiotherapy Extras. The amount rebated is varied according to both insurer and the level of cover. Initial consultations run for approximately 60 minutes, with follow up consultations approximately 30 minutes. We may require 60 minutes if presenting with a new injury, or if we haven’t seen you for longer than 6 months.
